Bean Studio

These 280sf studios exist somewhere between the individual and the whole, between the unit and the collective and between identity and ambiguity. They are constructed from a CNC cut steel frame and plywood. Bio-based spray foam insulation forms the enclosure; giving the studio a unique shape, color and texture. The closed cell soy-based insulation is sealed with a soy-based sealer. The intention is to grow the soybeans on site, reinforcing a one-to-one relationship between the farm and the dwelling. These 280sf studios exist somewhere between the individual and the whole, between the unit and the collective and between identity and ambiguity.
